Somewhere between summer and autumn, where figs are still abundant and it’s not too hot to turn on the oven anymore, these figgy treats are you best bet for a satisfying, wholesome treat.
-150gr almonds
-3 tbsp agave syrup
-6 tbsp water
-1/4 tsp ground vanilla bean
-5 tbsp oat flakes
-8 fresh figs
-1 tsp cinnamon
First you need to blanch the almonds in hot water so that you can peel them. Add the peeled almonds in a high speed blender with the water, agave and vanilla. Blend for a few minutes until it becomes a smooth thick cream. Transfer in a bowl and add 4 tbsp of the oat flakes. Stir to incorporate. On a small ovenproof dish, sprinkle the rest of the oats. Now pour oven the cream and even it out with a spoon. Slice the figs and arrange them on top of the almond cream. Brush with a bit of extra agave nectar and sprinkle the cinnamon. Bake for 30 minutes at 180C.
Let it cool down before you enjoy!

these look amazing! i love figs, almonds, and oats… i should def make these! thanks for sharing!
Very impressive! You always make such beautiful baked goods.
I iw shi was not allergic to nuts to make this. All these posts on blogs i have been seeing lately have nuts in them. This looks incredible!
You could substitute the almonds for hulled hemp seeds if you can tolerate seeds!
Mmm this looks so delicious!! And I just adore your photos. So beautiful!! Unfortunately fresh figs cost a bomb here, do you think it would work with dried figs?
Sure I don’t see why not. Maybe you need to soak them though. Or consider using a different fruit, peaches maybe?
Lots of lovely fresh fig recipes around at the moment… these bars look amazingly good!! Love the soft pink colour, incredibly edible
What a delicious and healthy way to enjoy fresh figs.
yummy! well done! figs are abundant everywhere in athens!
every time I go for a walk, I get back with a bag full of figs, and this is such a nice way to use them!
These look beautiful! They sound so intricate, but the ingredient list is so simple. I will certainly have to take advantage of fresh figs while they are still in the markets and make these bars!
These look so awesomer!
I cant wait to make these! how beautiful!
Hey! I just made them and right now I am eating the first piece! I had a bunch of figs in my refrigerator so I decided to make them. The thing i liked about this recipe is that is conssists of things that we all have in our pastries. Almonds, oats and some agave (a believe castor sugar would work just fine) and you have your desert ready! And it worked out perfect!
Thank you for the great veganlicious ideas!!!!
these look so so nice definately going to make these, could u also try using other nuts instead of almonds ?
